Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this Bauer Products Matte Black Left Hand Manger Door Lock for horse trailers. Now, this lock here will let you secure the feed or the manger door on your horse trailer. The door latch paddle you can see is hinged on the left side, and that's to open in the opposite direction as the door. You can see that when you pull up on that paddle, it'll release the door, enable to open it. This is constructed of a nice die cast zinc construction, has a nice rust resistant matte black powder coat finish over it to protect it.
Even comes with a nice pad here, rubber gasket, so that when you do install it, it'll help seal it. And it does include everything shown here on the table, comes with the two keys to lock it, comes with the door edge plate, the striker plate, and the installation hardware for that striker plate. Now, the keys, to lock it, what you'll do is take your key and just insert it into the lock, and you turn it a quarter of a turn, and that'll lock the handle, so nobody could open it. You can take the key out if you prefer, and just like that, it's locked, so the latch won't open. And then if you go to open it, just go ahead and put your key back in, turn it back a quarter of a turn, and that'll release it and let you open it.
Now, the required cutout dimension that this will fit into is gonna be 2 3/4 inches wide, probably about 3 3/4 inches tall. But again, just pull up on the paddle, and you can see it opens the door. But that should do it for the review on the Bauer Products Matte Black Left Hand Manger Door Lock for horse trailers..

The product is fine however it does not fit a 2001 Featherlite dropdown Mager door. The holes for the face plate do not line up with the existing holes and are to close to drill new ones.

This latch fit my 1999 exciss horse trailer drop down window nicely. The back plate is plastic, not metal. That’s the only drawback.

It’s great. Still works well
Easy to install. Says 2 3/4 x 3 3/4 but will fit in a 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 size cut out. Worked perfect on a horse trailer i repaired. Bought 4 of them just wished you could get multiples keyed alike

Great replacement for the broken handles on our old Horse Trailer.
